So I did some digging and was able to piece together a Mac Mini and am looking for feedback/suggestions.

2.6GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i7 $869 Apple
16GB 1600MHz $107 OWC
750GB Seagate Hybrid drive $125 Amazon
Logitech Wireless Solar keyboard $59 Apple
1920x1080 23” Dell monitor $219 Dell

bringing the total to $1379
2.3GHz being $90 cheaper $1289

What do you think?

I 2nd the Crucial RAM and get the SSD so that your purchase will be good for 3+ years...

If you can afford it - get a larger monitor since that will always help your work. I just upgraded to a samsung 800 series 2560*1440 - well worth it for the extra real estate..

I would love to get a SSD but at about $1 a GB vs $0.16 a GB its hard to justify.

In regards to the samsung display, why didn't you go for the apple cinema?

I understand not being able to afford Apple's SSD but the hybrid drive isn't much better than a regular HDD. I would get the regular HDD and then later put a 128GB SSD in a GoFlex adapter for an external boot drive.
