Hello all

I need some help. I cannot boot from the Tiger DVD to repair the HD where the OS resides. When the DVD is inserted, it mounts on the Desktop as to be installed, but it will NOT allow me to boot from the DVD. I've tried restarting and holding the "C"" key and it still boots up to my wallpaper. Also it doesn't show up in the "Start up disk" in system preferences as an option. I've tried this on my G4 and the DVD works okay, just not on my Mini.

This is Mini is a Intel Core Duo, 1.66Ghz 2GB of RAM (tested and passed) running 10.4.11 To bad AppleJack doesn't work on 10.4.11. I heard it works pretty well.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

*BTW I've searched these forums and haven't found a similar issue, so please no "use the search feature" comments.*

If you have an iPod or external hard drive, you might try restoring the disc (in Disk Utility) to a partition of your drive or to the iPod drive. That's good for a boot, although you wouldn't want to make a habit out of it.

Otherwise, I recommend piracy and burning yourself a new copy.
