I want to be able to change the computer icon on my new 2010 Mac mini. I've read several places that all of the icons are held in /System/Library/CoreServices/CoreTypes.bundle/Contents/Resources. Well, I've gone there, and I cannot find the Mac mini 2010 icon. Every single other computer is there, including the old pre-2010 minis, except for my computer itself. So, where is the icon in the system?

Do you mean the Macintosh HD icon?

Find the icon that you want to use and download to your computer. Right click and select Get Info. In the info panel, click on it's icon and from Finder's Edit menu, select Copy.

Now select your HD icon, Get Info, and select it's icon. Now in Finder's Edit menu, select Paste. You now have a new icon.

No, I mean the computer icon itself, not the HD. You can't do that with the computer icon.

Ahh, you mean the one in a Finder window sidebar?

Exactly. As I said before, that should be in CoreTypes.bundle like all other computer icons are, (I've even changed a few, and it did work), but the icon isn't in there.
