I was considering the middle model mini mac Apple Mac mini Desktops (MGEN2LL/A), 2.6GHz Dual-Core Intel Core i5 8 Gb ram 1Tb hard drive,Desktop.
Would that be sufficient for GarageBand??? that's all I will be using it for basic 4 track recording
Non commercial.I use a PC for everything else.

With only a 1tb platter-based hard drive, that Mini is going to be s_l_o_w.

If you're getting the midrange Mini, get it with the 1tb fusion drive. This has a 128gb SSD portion and a 1tb HDD portion.

MUCH faster.

Considering that I'm running Logic Pro 9 on my 2009 mini, this should be fine. If you don't want to upgrade to a ssd now, you can always go external later (a bit slower, probably). Stay away from the low end model.
