Hi guys,

I would like your input considering a mac mini setup for iOS development.

There's a lot of controversy surrounding the latest mac mini in the sense that the older one is/seems better. The general consensus has been that Apple has crippled the new mac mini.

I want to purchase a mac mini for iOS development. I currently own a mid-2012 11 inch MBA.

I would like your input on a solid/decent iOS development setup.

I've done some research myself and the suggested ideal setup seems to be a mac mini with two 24' monitors.

My questions are:
- How can I daisy-chain dual monitors? (the mac mini only has 1 HDMI port)
- Which Mac mini should i get? (I'm thinking mid tier, 16GB Ram, Intel Iris)
- Fusion drive or SSD? (there's no price difference for the mid-tier)
- What is the likelyhood of the mac mini being updated again this year? I feel like the Haswell processor is really outdated with Broadwell and Skylake on the horizon for 2015.

I definitely don't want an iMac. I like the portability of the mac mini and the versatility.

Your thoughts on this is very much welcomed.

PS: Let me know if it would be smarter to just hookup my 11 inch on two monitors (also let me know how to best do this, only 1 thunderbolt port and buying the Thunderbolt Display seems like overkill, overpriced plus it's probably due for an upgrade this year.)
