Good day All
I am hoping someone has a solid solution for me for this.

I have a old Mac mini that I have set up as a media player running on a older TV

The system ran flawlessly on a monitor I have where I have it start up at a certain time... launch VLC and then fullscreen and do its thing, then shutdown at a certain time.

Problem is, I now have it plugged into a TV and if the TV is powered on and the Mac starts all runs flawless. BUT... if the TV is powered off, and the Mac starts and I then Power the TV on, VLC plays in the top left corner of the screen, taking up about 80% of the space... its not running full screen.

I am thinking that when the Mac starts without a monitor/TV plugged in, it defaults to a higher resolution (maybe 1080) and then once the Mac detects the display (when its powered on) the Mac sets the resolution to the detected native res of the TV (1360x768) and VLC does not know this or it just continues on as it should, so it is not full screening to the new resolution.

I have been trying to find a way to force the Mac to not autodetect a screen or a resolution, or a way to force the mac to only run at one specific resolution... or both.

Anyone have solutions for me?

Spec:

OS: High Sierra
