I just installed Samsung 160GB (model HM160JC) ATA Hd into my Mac Mini G4 1.42. After it is up and running again, the fan is ultra loud and does not turn off at all. Did I forget to reconnect something on the fan during installation??Thanks!:)

It's probably the little black wire.

It's probably the little black wire in the front part.

Here's a very helpful thread:

How To: Mac Mini RAM Upgrade, Pictures Inside!

Next, in the front of the Mini, under the Optical drive and to the right of the Battery, there's a little black wire you need to unplug.
Do so by prying it up with your Small flat head screw driver:

I also unhooking the fan but the computer turns on and then shuts off. Thanks!

Ah sorry!

I should've read the thread title more closely. Other than the C2D instructions, I don't know much about the G4 Mini internals. Perhaps other gurus in this forum can help. Thanks!
