my mac mini i was given as spares is having probs .its specs are (1.42 , bt , ap , sd ) the super drive is bust
it came with no hard drive but had a 1g stick of ram . i have put a 60g hd with leopard in using a 85w power supply it starts up - light on front , the hard drive spins up , but no chime and no display . any help before i dismantle it and hopefully wont need a new logic board (bad times)

That's what happened to my 2ghz mini after a couple of months, that was 6 months ago i still havent bothered to take it to get fixed.

i dismantled the g4 today , nothing stands out bar the battery looked a little discolored , the internals were a bit dusty . will changing the battery be a good idea

Check the ram on the unit. Sometimes ram will give you lots of issues.
