I upgraded the memory in my 2011 Mac Mini and when I booted it back up everything is gone. Can't even get Lion to run. I am stuck on the Mac OS X Utilities page. What on earth could have happened to erase everything and start me over. What do I do from here? I dont have a backup on time machine and it can't find my wireless signal to reboot Lion. Please help!

Some additional information that may help. The computer was not shutting down so I held down the power button until it shut down like I do on my macbook. Could this have possibly caused the erase and restart?

Suggestion:

Take the new memory OUT, and restore to the factory configuration.

Does this make a difference?

I did and still no change. I am heading to the Apple store today so I will report back after my appointment.

I'm buying a Mac mini in two weeks and would like to replace the ram. I was wondering which after market ram did you put into your mini? Was it Crucial, or OWC, or some other brand?
