I waited till now, thinking 15.2 would be stable but since the update, the machine just keeps getting kernel panic and rebooting. I disconnected all peripheral, no change.
Restarted in Safe Mode and ran EtreCheck, I'll post it below:

I'd be grateful for any tips.

1. The RAM hasn’t changed in years, why would I replace it due to an OS update?
2. I’ll try that, thanks

Frequent kernel panics are sometimes indicative of hardware issues. Memory is the only user upgradable component of that model MM.

I appreciate your advice but are you seriously suggesting that my RAM developed a problem after years with zero issues, at exactly the same time as I upgraded to MacOs 15.2?

I ran the hardware diagnostics, no problems found, tried all sorts of tidying up, removed an old kernel extension etc.
All to no avail, here is the latest EtreCheck Report:

If the machine works in Safe Boot mode, then it's likely caused by a third-party extension or other software that's loading in. Disable all that stuff in the EtreCheck report, and check whether it's up-to-date and compatible with Sequoia before enabling and testing each one in turn.

I have removed everything and still the same, think I'll have to go back to the previous OS:

Ah well, back to Sonoma I suppose, or maybe a fresh Sequoia Installation then copy all my stuff over from my Time Machine Backup but wonder if it's worth it as I'll replace the machine this year.

Firstly, the OS is on a signed, sealed volume. If the signature doesn't match, the Mac won't boot. You can't have a corrupt OS that needs re-installing.

Secondly: If you restore EVERYTHING, then you'll be exactly back where you were. What you need to do is start selectively reinstalling your third-party software -- preferably using the latest version, rather than whatever you've got currently on your backup.

I wouldn't install everything, just get all documents, files etc. over.
First I'll try to get back to Sonoma, I'll be getting a new Mac later in the year and will do a clean installation then, no point doing it twice if not necessary.
