Hi,

Mac newbie here. Presently have an iPhone only. Should also mention that I have an airport time capsule 2tb for a router.

My windows laptop died and it's time for something to replace it. I do not have a desktop or any place to store files. Have all my music on a a wd hard drive.

Considering Mac book or a Mac mini with an iPad Air 2. Oh yeah, the mini would replace the Apple TV which would be moved to another TV.

Questions.

1. Can I use the iPad and iPhone to access what is on the Mac mini? What about when I am away from my wireless?

2. Would I need another hard drive for the airport time capsule.

3. Will a MacBook be enough for storage with the airport time capsule?

Any and all advice is appreciated.

Thank you

No one can tell you how much hard drive space you need only you can determine that based on what you currently have and what you predict you will need in the future based on you accumulation of electronic data over the last few years. Start with how much space you use on your PC and work from there.
