Hello everyone,

I have a Mac Mini M1, and recently, I've noticed that there's a distinct sound coming from the power supply when the machine is turned on. The sound is similar to a low-pitched Morse code-like noise, and it seems to be coming from the power supply area. This sound occurs only when the Mac is powered on, and it stops when the Mac is turned off. The sound has been consistent, but I'm not sure if this is something I should be concerned about.

Has anyone else experienced this? Is this a known issue with the Mac Mini M1? Could it be related to power supply behavior or a possible hardware issue? Any advice would be appreciated!

Thanks in advance!

Thanks for the link! The sound I'm hearing from the power supply side of the Mac mini isn't exactly a beep, but it does remind me of Morse code, like a soft pulsing or pattern of short and long "tones", not high-pitched though. It only happens when the device is powered on.

I'm starting to suspect coil whine
