I've been trying everything. Tried different USB-A memories, connected directly or using a USB-C dongle and nothing works.
When I connect a USB-A memory to the mini M1 it takes 20-30 seconds to list it content and then moving files take 8min for a 2.2mb
1Gb takes 2 hours
Contacted Apple Support and the escalated the problem but they say it's normal. How can they say that? Isn't there anyone suffering the same problem.
Sometimes when transferring files like 5-20Gb the memory disconnects itself.

Do you have any other software running that could interfere with the transfer like anti-virus or similar? Two things to try are to boot into safe mode and see how long the transfers take. You can also create a new user and see if that user gets normal speeds. That would indicate issues with your configuration.

Is that a thumb drive that is so slow?
Or, is this an external USB drive that uses a USB-A connector cable?

What is reported for the bus or device speed in your System Information/USB tab?
You should see "Speed", which will report your device's potential speed as "Up to 480 Mb/sec"
What does your drive report in that Information app?

It could be an old and slow USB1 flash drive.

If you want "faster", get a USB3 flashdrive.
Better yet, get a small USB3 SSD.

Also, if you have a USB-A drive and are using a USB-C to USB-A dongle, beware. Some so-called USB-C to USB 3 adapters (To use a USB-A drive on a USB-C port) don't actually work at USB 3 speeds. It's even worse for USB 3 to USB-C adapters (to use a USB-C drive on a USB-A port).
