I have a LG27GL850 1440p@144 monitor and was wondering if the mac mini m2 (no pro) is able to get that resolution with G-sync on. I had an experience with an M1 and it only reached 1440@100Hz with G-sync on.

any experience or help?

thanks!

A quick search shows that the LG 27GL850 supports DisplayPort 1.4 and should (in theory) support Display Stream Compression, which in turn allows for higher refresh rates. You'll need to use a USB-C to DisplayPort 1.4 cable and change the input via the monitor's menu. Here's a video of how to do it on an LG 27GN950-B, I'd assume the OSD on your monitor is very similar if not identical:

The M2's HDMI port is HDMI 2.0, not 2.1, so I don't think you'll be able to achieve your desired refresh rate that way.

No guarantees, but if you use a USB-C to DisplayPort 1.4 Cable + an Active DisplayPort to HDMI Adapter, you might be able to achieve a 144Hz refresh rate. Alternatively, you could try using a DisplayPort 1.4 Switch.

Best of luck!

ohh!!! I didn´t know about DP switch. I think it´s way to go. I did not want waste money in M2 Pro only for having HDMI 2.1 (Adapters did not work with a M1 i had) thanks a lot.
