Hey all, so I'm finally about to buy the Mac mini I asked about awhile back. When I start the setup is there a way to have it so that it doesn't mirror my MacBook? I know when I set my MacBook up all the settings and stuff on the desktop transferred over. While I'll be doing a lot of the same work on both I don't want them to be exactly alike.

When you setup the new Mini, it will ask if you want to import data from another computer. Just say "no" if you don't want that. But you can also be selective about what you transfer this way, there's an option where you can choose exactly what you want to transfer. You can also set it up initially without importing anything and then come back later and and import anything you like. Just run the program called Migration Assistant that you will find in the Utilities folder inside the Applications folder on the new Mini. This is the same program that runs automatically when you setup a new Mac.

Great thanks. That's going to be a big help, I'm still trying to decided what I want on both and what I don't.
