Mac Mini/ Motion Blues

I am attempting to run Motion (version 2) on my intel Mac Mini - specs as follows: 1.83 Ghz intel core duo with 1 GB RAM. When I option Motion I get the welcome screen, I can click on start a new project and get to the next screen (select project preset). When I click through this screen Motion shuts down after displaying the canvas for a nano second. I am told that the apple site states that Motion does not run on the Mac Mini, however I bought Motion as part of Final Cut Studio and FCP works fine!
Any advice out there please?
