Hello
I have one question:
I'm a designer, illustrator & i use a lot of photos (from raw to 1gb psd files)
what is better idea:
Maxed ram mac mini + ssd & external nec pa 301 ( i have eye one pro callibrator)
---- or ----
Maxed out imac 27 + ssd ...

I care a lot about speed, but also about color consistency.
Could you guys give me any suggestion please?

Ps my 2009 imac getting old and i'm dissappointed with its lcd. (at my work i use eizo cg27 - in terms of color its very good)

I'd go with the mini (server!) and the PA301 (assuming there's a thunderbolt/displayport adapter). If/when OSX provides wide gamut output, the monitor will handle it. The mini can be upgraded from otherworldcomputing to have plenty of everything (unless you're working with lots of huge files simultaneously). The iMac, nice as it is, simply can't match the 301's color accuracy.
