All, this is my first post so please forgive my ignorance.

I'll try and keep it short: all movies were playing VERY slow on my mac mini (1.25 GHz PowerPC G4 w/ 1GB RAM). This included slow performance on iMovie as I was attempting to construct a slideshow. Thinking I could free up some space, I attemted (using advice in this forum) to move my iPhoto library to my external Lacie Hard Drive (quit iPhoto then move the entire library over to the external drive).
Though my iPhoto library moved over to the Hard Drive, the last two years of my photos have been deleted from both the internal Mac location and the Lacie disk location. I have attempted to locate these photos (going to the originals folder, iPhoto trash, etc) to no avail. I even looked back through my backups and none of these photos exist in any backups. I do share this computer with my fiance so there are two users on the computer...not sure if that has anything to do with where they may be located. Does anyone have even the slightest clue as to what might have happened here? Any chance of ever recovering them? Thanks so much, in advance!
