Mac Mini Questions

Hello, i am asking this on behalf of a friend who is looking to get a mac mini.

If he was using a mac mini would he be able to view the media, tv/music/films etc on a tv in a different room without the use of an apple tv?

He'd need a cable long enough to go from the Mini to the TV.

With Front Row it's very easy to watch iTunes content on a TV so he shouldn't have any problems.
