Ok, so due to yesterday's announcements, I'm going to get a Mac Mini for now (see my others posts if you care to know why).

I want to get the 1.25 ghz ghz 40 gig model (will use an external 3.5" Firewire hard drive for more, cheaper, and faster storage) but I DO want the Superdrive and DO NOT want to order from store.apple.com or any other California based retailer to avoid sales tax.

It looks like some retailers (like Amazon in WA) only have the base 256 meg models w/o Superdrive which would mean I'd have to go to Apple retail stores or store.apple.com and pay Apple's high price ($100) for the SuperDrive + 8.25% tax.

PC Connection DOES seem to carry SuperDrive equipped Minis ($553 after rebate for 1.25 ghz, 40 gig, Superdrive, 256 MB of RAM). Are there any other repuatable retailers that would too? I'm just trying to price shop.

The last part of the question is RAM (also BTO w/Apple). I want a gig of RAM. Crucial's price of $110 for a 1 gig DIMM is a LOT better than Apple's $225 to upgrade. I did a search here (and on Apple's site) and have found only conflicting info (and debate) on the warranty part. Will Apple void a warranty for swapping RAM on a Mini?
