So I'm curious if anyone is having similar issues. I recently changed my configurations to be centered around a Mac Mini server running Lion with the server utilities. Hardware:
- Mac Mini (Late-2009) with Lion Server
- Seagate GoFlex USB 2.0, 2TB as a Time Machine drive
- MacBook Air connecting to the Mini and backing up to the 2TB drive to backup
- Airport Express-n (old version) hosting the party wirelessly
Periodically through my 200GB backup, I'll get a complete system lock-up on my Air, having to force a manual shutdown. For some reason, I have only experienced a complete system freeze when using Chrome. When using Safari, I just get a beachball for 30 seconds and things bounce back. The Mini appears unaffected by all this.
I have a Linksys E-3000 enroute that I plan on installing DD-WRT on so the Mini will have a wired connection to see if that helps. I was also thinking of swapping that USB 2.0 drive for a firewire 800 drive to see if that helps with stability.
Any ideas?
