What do you envision the capabilities of this system for one man insurance sales office. I do not sell auto, just life health and disability. I have a website were people can visit the companies I represent and make their purchases. I would like to expand. Any ideas as to what I can do with system that will expand my business. Thanks

If you know how to administer it properly then it's great.

Edit: that system could probably serve hundreds of clients, don't let IBM and the like fool you. You don't need an 8 core machine to have a good server.

How do you expect it or want it to expand your business?

I doubt you need a server or OS X server for what you are doing.

Many people just fail to understand what a server does. They tend to think of it as some kind of turbo charged computer experience.

Servers don't add speed to computing, they add reach. They are more like diesel engines than nitro charged engines.

For example you have a sales branch that needs access to a centralised calendar and address database. 100 employees who need constant access to documents etc.

You want to deploy a training video to a number of staff. Or you have a website that needs to be accessed in order to fill out forms for your business.

That's what a server does generally. Then you have specialised servers- media servers, web servers etc.

Servers are about deployment and reach not doing everyday things quicker.

If not used as server

Can the mini server with the 2 hdd just be used for additional space be a good way for storage, and still be a good system, as i am running out of storage on my iMac

Would Like more input

I am trying to find out additional ways of usage in expanding my systems

Are you just looking for more storage? You say ONE MAN are you your only employee? If so why would you need a server? or do you just need an external hard drive.

mini mac storage

I am really leaning to mini, as nobody has said that the server will help my needs. Networking the mini will give me additional storage and I can network my Imac, macbook pro, and a pc. will it be difficult??

With a program like elgato would I be able to stream tv to all locations
