I just purchased a 2018 I-5 512gb mini.
so I migrated all my apps and settings from my iMac, and upgraded the ram to 32gb. Its running in one monitor HDMI to HDMI and I’ve also tried usbc to VGA for two monitors. The problem I’m running into is randomly my displays will shut down, but the front led indicator is still on. But the fan cuts off. I also have worries about my cpu as soon as I log in the temperature is already at 140 degrees Fahrenheit. Using a suggested app i brought it down to 95 degrees. Not sure if it’s a hardware or software problem doing this. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

When the temperature gets up high, open activity monitor and see which applications or processes are consuming CPU power...

Ok I was nervous at first seeing that number

Intel CPUs are generally rated for 100°C (212°F) before even slowing down at all. 110°C (230°F) before it's considered a critical state. My CPUs usually go to around 95C (203F) and sit there while doing work, with the fans' speed depending on how much the load is. It's perfectly within Intel's specifications for their chips and rated usage. Beside, more than absolute temperature, rapid high temperature fluctuations are more harmful to chips; I.e. quickly going from 20 to 100C over and over. 30 to 60 is well within reason
