Where I am
This is now take 4, I believe, with a Mac Mini M1 (MM).

However, this time around, I setup the unit with a wired keyboard and mouse, then perform the latest updates to Big Sur. With that, this MM is now on 11.4.

Post the above, I installed software:
  • Microsoft 365 Office suite
  • Logitech Options software
  • One work application, via Parallels client (downloaded via the App Shop)
With the above all done, I powered down the unit, then moved it into its setup position, for daily use. Then connected the:
  • Monitor (Samsung 49”) via HDMI
  • Logitech unifier via an adapter (USB A to USB C)
  • Network cable for LAN connection
  • Sound cable for my Bose speakers
The main difference this time round, was not placing the unit in the stand I have for the MM.

Thus far, things seem to be working well. Restarting the MM still does not show the display immediately on the Samsung monitor. However, I have learned that if I press the button for source, the MM then displays within 2 seconds.

Interesting…

If your main issues are display issues, that’s a win. I’ve had them non-stop since i bought my 2018 mini. As long as you know what to do to make the display show an image each, you’re good.

So far so good. And, Time Machine has been setup, too.

I am using a Samsung SSD, in an enclosure, via USB A.
In time, I might look into a USB C/Thunderbolt enclosure for my Samsung SSD. Faster speeds and all that...

Glad to hear. Long may it continue!
