Mac Mini users (M1 / M2): What do you use your Mini’s for?

Hi everyone!

I’m kinda curious… For those that own a Mac Mini, what do you use your systems for?

And what are the specs of your Mac Mini?

Is it your main system? Or just for entertainment purposes?

Do you use it for intense work, like video editing and app development? Or less intense work, like typing essays and web browsing?

I have an M1 Mac Mini, first year of the M1. I use it for photo processing with Lightroom. 16 gigs memory and works just fine.

M1 Mac mini, 16GB with 256GB internal and 2TB external SSD.

Primarily Logic Pro (hobbyist, not a professional producer), w/softsynths and sample libraries. Lots of web/youtube.

Occasionally photo editing, though I stopped paying for Adobe photo subscription a while back so I'm just using Apple Photos and RAW Power mostly. I process RAW files from my OM-1 which I really need to use more often.

I keep telling myself I'm going to start doing video editing but that hasn't happened yet (again with the OM-1).

As I geek I'm tempted to get the M2 Pro but realistically I'm not even using my M1 to its full potential. I'll probably end up getting an M2 to replace my wife's old 2015 iMac and then get myself an M3 Mini later on.

Main system is the M1, backed up with 2015 iMac. M1 MacMini. 16GB, 512GB, two monitors, external HD for backup.

Surfing the web, listening to music, occasional movie, and editing photos. I really don't need an M2 version, but if my spouse's 2012 iMac dies, well then the M2 might be on the horizon.
