I might be moving to a mac mini and will purchase a monitor like a Samsung, LG, etc. A co-worker recently added a Samsung 27TC55 to use with their Macbook Pro and the picture quality .... is terrible. Looks like the monitor's max/default resolution is 1920x1080 (from it's specs) and the MBP is running it at that resolution, so it's probably set up as best it can be. Why would it look so bad ("fuzzy", not crisp) ? I've briefly looked at monitor options and I've been looking at 4k or 5K resolution monitors. Am I on a better track going this way ?

The mac mini I'm looking at supports 6k resolution (on up to (2) displays), so I want a monitor that can do up to 6144 x 3160 - right ? Actually that looks like you need to use the Thunderbolt connection to get that, but it will do 4k over HDMI, which is more likely to be what's used.
