I got my wife the new Mac mini with the M1 chip.

When she goes to wake it, a lot of times the screen acts weird. We have to shut the monitor and turn it off. Sometimes it will come on and when you go to type the password, it'll be really slow to respond. Like a 5-10 second delay in typing the password.

Anyone else have these issues?

I have wake issues with my Mini (M1) but seems to be limited to sleeping overnight. Most of the time I'll hit the keyboard to wake it which it does but there is no video output (HDMI). Sometimes the video will work after a minute or so but most of the time I have to restart it. Basically, I just turn it off now if I'm going to be out for more than a few hours. Hopefully this gets resolved sooner than later. My 2018 Mini has no such issues and both are on Big Sur.

Let us hope next software update! It is annoying.

Today while using my M1 mini I lost complete bluetooth connectivity. My older, Apple bluetooth kb, magic mouse and track pad 2 were completely disconnected. No amount of turning BT off or on would bring them back, in the end I had to restart the mini. I have also had issues with bluetooth connectivity after waking the mini from sleep. I contacted Apple support today and they suggested unticking the energy saving option that puts the hard disk to sleep. They acknowledged this is a workaround and for now, it's resolved the bluetooth issues when waking the mini, but it's not really asleep if the hard disk doesn't go to sleep too, is it?

Well, considering it is SSD I don't think there are hard drives to go to sleep.
