mac mini with eyeTV and comcast

does anyone know how to get comcast hd and hbo channels to show up in eyeTV if i'm subscribed to them?

the tuner will probably not be able to get HBO, you would have to plug into your cable box via Svideo inputs to get the signal in. Look into this article

you might be able to get the local channels in HD, but you'll have to look for them, easiest to do would be a channel scan, and then see where they are. But this depends on if your cable company puts them on the wire or not.

You can only tune into Clear QAM channels. You can ask Comcast or look up which channels these are, but they are normally just the local stations you could pick up OTA.

yeah i was trying to get the cable hd channels that i get from comcast.
i was thinking the signal might have to go through the cable box to get them.
if i plugged the tuner to the box, will that box/tv control what eyetv shows on my mac or vice versa?
