I have a 2005 Mac mini and I got a new Mac so I packaged the old mac mini up a few months ago and took the hard drive out. I pulled it out today and now it won't start no chime no display on the screen, could that be because it has no hard drive? it was working fine previously. Thanks

Hmm, even without the drive it should ding, but then it would show the drive error flashing icon. 2005 would be a PPC Mac..did you try resetting PRAM and SMC?

No I haven't tried, it's actually one I'm thinking about buying and this is what the guy told me, he is offering to sell it to me without the internal drive for 50 bucks, you think it'll be worth while?

I'd imagine you could get $50 for parts on Ebay at the very least.

And if you can get it to work.. all the better. *I* would do it.. but I do a lot of dumb things.. so YMMV. :D
