Mac Mini won't let me sign into Apple ID

I have a 2011 Mac Mini using Os High Sierra. I cant seem to log into Apple ID anymore, each time i put in my ID and password it takes me back to this log in again.

I've tried rebooting, signing out, creating a new ID, changing password but still no luck.
I have no problems with my iPad or iPhone and it lets me log into iCloud on web based.

Its been like this for weeks, Any ideas what i can do ?

This is a shot in the dark and probably won't work, but worth a try.
Months ago something odd happened to mine - the ID and password (that I use for the App Store etc. ) were all correct and same used on my iPad. But I kept being told it was wrong.

So, just for trial and error I put my usual ID email address in and instead of the App Store / account password, I used the password for the computer...... and it worked! Pretty sure I posted a thread about it here.
