I've had my Mac Monitor for about 2 and a half years and never had any trouble with it.

I plug the keyboard into the back of the monitor into the USB port.

A couple of days ago the keyboard and mouse stopped working, the cursors disappeared and there was no caps lock light on when I pressed it. I tried the other USB ports and it didn't work then either.

I then plugged the keyboard into the other available USBs on the Mac Pro and it worked fine in all USBs.

Have the USB pots on the monitor broken?

Thanks

Sounds like they are. That ain't a big loss though, you can buy an USB hub for ~20$ and it'll do the same

Thanks for replying,

I think they are too, shame though!

I'll look into a USB hub.

What type of Apple display is it? On my 30" Cinema, the USB cable in the all-in-one connector needs to be connected directly to one of the computer's available USB ports. If you can confirm the physical connection is up to spec, then next step would probably to reset the Mac Pro's SMC, or have the display diagnosed with a different computer system entirely.

do you have apple care for your mac pro? and was the display bought at the same time?

I do have apple care as I bought the monitor and the mac pro at the same time, I think I have like 4 months left of apple care.

When this happened couple of days ago, I was going to go straight to them, though I thought that I'll check the forums first.

The monitor is 20inches, do apple still do them, as I checked on the website and didn't see a 20 inch display.

I think I'm having the same issue, what was the solution?

I phoned Apple and they gave the address of a certified repairer. They gave me a brand new monitor.

I had the Apple cover as well, with about a month remaining which was a bit of luck.
