I have recently upgraded my internet service to Rogers Ultimate (50 Mbps) and to do so had to upgrade my modem from my old Motorola Surfboard to an SMCD3GN. I have read that the SMC have crap WiFi so I have disabled it's WiFi and have attached my Airport extreme to the SMC to handle the WiFi traffic.

My set up is as follows:

1- 24" iMac Connected by Ethernet.
2- Samsung 55", PS3, Xbox 360 and Mac Mini HTPC all connected by ethernet to a switch in the system. Ethernet from switch goes to modem.
3- Xbox 360 in Basement with ethernet cable.
4- MBP connected via WiFi

ALL components are able to access internet. I am not able to see my iMac or my MBP from the Mac Mini when I pull up the finder while connected via Ethernet if I enable WiFi on the Mac Mini all the other apple products show up in the finder.

How should I be configuring this network? Should I be plugging all the Apple components into the Airport Extreme or the SMC?

All assistance is appreciated.
