I have a 2011 macbook pro.

Yesterday it stopped at the apple logo and keeps thinking.Today I tried again and now I get that round circle with a line through it.

I have just entered into recovery mode and tried to verify disk and results came out good.
I have also reset SMC following Apples instructions online. But the same problem

Any help on this would be great.

How about a reinstallation of OS X (not clean install)? That'll preserve all your data.

Last time I had problem with revA macbook - it stopped booting at apple logo - disk was faulty - try to boot from external HDD, if you can.
