My friend came over and installed Mac Office 08 on my Powerbook. I was a little hesitant as the CD was burned. Anyways, we have had nothing but trouble and I am thinking he installed a beta copy of it. I went to Word > About Word and I see the build is 071130. Is that a beta?

I am about ready to uninstall it, but I might never purchase it as its so buggy, BUT it could be because I have a beta.

TIA

I just installed Office 2008 about half an hour ago, retail, and it's the same build; 077130. Man, it's soooo slow and I agree that it's a bit buggy. Things are very choppy and I wouldn't expect them to be on this machine. I am not impressed at all. Office 2004 was often quicker than this.

Well that sucks. I was hoping it was a beta because it is so buggy.

I am going back to 2004. (Just like PC users went back to Vista)

Thats too bad for MicroSoft.
