Mac office 2011 vs 2008

I am using Excel a lot but comparing excel 2008 to the windows version I notice that the mac version is limited in a lot of thinks. For instance macro's made in Windows acel are not accepted in Mac excel. If you want to make a hyperlink on a tekst in a cell to another file that file has to be lokated on the desktop. Ver very annoying. Is there any improvement in the 2011 office version ?? What are the most important improvements of excel in office 2011 compared to the 2008 version ??????
