To sum up all that I have in mind, I'm looking to create games solely for MacOS X to take complete advantage of the amazing technologies in OS X and OpenGL.
I want to be able to exhibit the Mac OS as a viable gaming platform so we can finally gain more damn support! I hate Windows! I freaking hate Windows! Well, what I mean is, I hate that I have to install Windows just to get a decent library of games on my Mac.
We have so many thousands of developers primed already. iPhone, anybody? Using similar API's and OpenGL, it should take a minimal amount of adjustments to become a cross iPhone-Mac developer.
I emailed Bertrand about this and he expressed some interest, though finally said Apple could not offer any support:
That's your business!
You should have all you need (APIs, developer support via WWDR) to develop such a game.
Best luck,
John Carmack replied:
PC gaming isn't all that healthy by itself, [...] hardcore mac games are going to remain a tiny minority. We still plan on supporting the platform, though.

So it would seem such a venture wouldn't make a whole lot of economic sense, thus we would need a private studio and develop from the ground up and not expect a pay off.
Any advice where to find such a team? Creating small-time games and scaling to a full-featured game would be my preferred course, just to generate wider interest in Mac developers creating original Mac gaming titles.
Let's make a freaking game already. Who knows, years from now, we could have developed the "Halo" of Mac gaming, without the epic lameness.
