Mac or PC

Hi All, I'm new to this forum and maybe switching to Apple.

I held off until after Mac expo to see if Apple would do anything on Blu-ray and i was disapointed to see they snubed it. Can't figure it out why not but i guess they think they need a new laptop out instead of firming up what they already have.

Question, I shoot movies on my Sony HD (blu-ray) camcorder. I want to load them into a computer edit them in movie editing software and burn it to a Blu-ray disk. Also would like to watch it over my monitor. Can this happen with any Mac Now. Not in the future but now.

I will sum this up for you: To be or not to be? That is the "real" question.

As far as BR goes, I do not believe the BR issue can really be solved for you yet since they have taken a stance but not released a product for their devices. If this is critical for you then PC is all you have today.

It'd be cheaper to get a drive off of NewEgg and Toast 8.

If I buy an external Blu-ray burner than buy Toast 8 will this make either the imac or mac pro do what i want?
