I have been using my 5gb 1st Gen iPod to store a 70mb Photoshop file that I've been working on. I put the file on my iPod from my PowerBook G4 (12'' 867mhz 640mb RAM DVD-R) and take the iPod to school to work on my Commercial Art project on the school's eMacs (1.25ghz G4 1gig RAM DVD±R). At the time both machines has 10.3.5 or higher (PowerBook has 10.3.6).

Now the iPod on the eMac mounted correctly and I worked in Photoshop for about 3 hours. Then I saved my work. I did this for two days. On the second day I was able to connect the iPod to my PowerBook G4. iTunes found it, and it mounted on the Desktop. After upgrading to 10.3.7 on my PowerBook G4 I can no longer see the iPod, it won't mount, and iTunes doesn't see it. The iPod, when connected to the Mac, says 'OK to Disconnect'. If I startup the PowerBook with the iPod connected I get a Kernel Panic.

I don't need to get the 70mb file off since it's on the eMac at school, but I'd actually like to use my iPod. It plays music byitself fine but it won't show up on my PowerBook. I'll try the other Macs in my house and update this.

Any ideas for a fix...? Please don't say re-install OS X, I was waiting until TIger for that...  :(
