I have attached a picture of what has been happening to my computer every now and then for the past month. I see no pattern as to anything I am doing when it happens, my screen just becomes erratic and when I move the mouse around all the imaging starts changing.

I read some of the early 10.6 versions had some graphics issues put none that I read past the 10.6.6 version.

Anyone have any idea what may be happening here?

Thanks!

What computer do you have? Seems like the graphics card is fried.

Macbook

It is a macbook. The ones that came out about 3 years ago with the silver body and the black keyboard.

This literally JUST started happening so I wasn't sure if it was a virus (even though i know they are rare) or what

It has happened about 3 times in the past month at very random times. Resolves upon restart.

MacBook Pro or MacBook. Try an SMC reset, although I don't think that will work. And what is the GPU? (nVidia ____)

It is a macbook pro. I am not saavy at all, so how do I find out that info?

Found it

NVIDIA GeForce 320M

Your graphics chip might be going. Try the Apple Hardware Test.

I just ran the extended test and it found nothing.

I guess I may be running it to the apple store tomorrow!

Thank you for all your suggestions!
