In http://macos9lives.com/smforum/index.php/topic,2860.0.html the guys are now using more than 1.5 of RAM!

Diehard:"We should inform the other forums about this ! This is pretty crazy... 15 years after the OS 9 funeral it is getting a genetic overhaul,
128MB might not seem like much until you consider that 128MB is what many users had in the Classic Mac OS era to run OS 9 and all their applications.

In the big scheme of things, this is quite remarkable

Bumping this for greater general awareness and visibility: OS 9 machines of the likes of the MDD can install 2 GB DDR1 RAM, but OS 9 will "grab" all the RAM after crossing the 1.5 GB mark, leaving no more RAM than that for other applications. But with this simple patched ROM file, an additional 128 MB is freed up for any app that wishes to use it.

128 MB of additional RAM in OS 9 means a lot of games, apps and files in general can easily fit into that space. It's honestly a lot of extra RAM.

It'd be nice if one day the 1.628 GB limit was increased all the way up to 2.0GB, thus getting back all those 512 MB.
