I have a PowerBook G3 Pismo, and right now, I'm trying to install a new web browser that is coming in the format of a .sit file. But, Mac OS 9 is complaining: It won't open the .sit file, telling me that it could not find the program that created it. I tried to update the Stuffit Expander on it, but the irony is is that it is also a .sit file, and I cannot run it.

Any suggestions?

Stuffit is in there

I think a version of stuffit is included on Mac OS9. I cant remember but I think it were on Internet Utilities folder.

Try to open Stuffit before clicking the file. I even had to tell stuffit where was the file because clicking it did not open it. Later you can get one utility to make all .sit files to be openable by Stuffit.

You can always "unstuff" things on OSX.

Thanks, that worked. Now I'm literally having the same issue with .toast files.
