Mac OS 9 vs iOS 9 Logo?

Just noticed that both the Mac OS 9 (Classic) logo and the iOS 9 logo bear a striking resemblance.

Perhaps next year will see major strides forward in iOS? Perhaps as game-changing as the original Mac OS X? Merger of iOS and OS X?
