Anyone know the file sauce for this update? Is it substantial? What with this probably being the last update for Catalina. Will install later when I get home.

After update works all fine, but if I check for new updates, the system endlessly searches for new updates and does not offer an update to Monterey.

Can you still search your video/movie/tv library? Catalina just stopped doing that for me.

Is it normal that the 1.6GB file: "SecUpd2022-005Catalina.pkg" sticks at "/Library/Updates/_ManualUpdate/SecUpd2022-005Catalina.pkg"? I can not even delete it. It takes space for nothing or it has to remain there?

I have the same file and behavior on my 2020 MacBook Air. There is no trash option and dragging it to trash doesn't do anything.

I am assuming this file may be required for maintenance and/or a foundation bootstrap for retrieving OS upgrades available in Software Update.

The 2020 MacBook Air was released with macOS 11 Big Sur. I see no reason for a Catalina update to be on that Mac. Have you used Migration Assistant/TimeMachine to set it up?
Anyway, you can delete all contents of /Library/Updates by disabling SIP or directly from Terminal in Recovery.

The early 2020 Intel MacBook Air shipped with 10.15.3. This is not an M1 Air.

I’m sorry, I’ve totally missed that part of the image that clearly says Intel and Catalina. Please disregard the first paragraph of my previous post.
