My disk got full (screencast app was running and took to much space). While i was trying to fix it computer restarted and now won't boot.

Drive has zero free space.

#1 - TRIED

I tried to clean some space in single user mode. Unfortunately i can't mount my drive in rewritable mode:

When i type "mount -uw /" it kernel panics and reboots by itself.

Error shown:
panic(cpu caller 0x3044262): "jnl: transaction too big (1569280 >= 1572352 bytes,
bufsize 4096, tr 0x8b4cfac bp 0x57e8fcf0)"

#2 - I TRIED:

Created bootable USB. When i try to boot my mac (via option command) from it following happens: i can see the drice, i choose it, it starts loading something and it kernel panics again.

(This usb works perfectly on the other mac)

#3 - SHOULD I TRY?

I guess my other option is to find thunderbolt cable and connect my drive to another mac and try to clean it? Will i be able to delete files from my driver this way? I am living in place where it's not easy to get thunderbolt cable i will might need to order it from somewhere. That's why u am asking if i should even try this option or maybe there are any other ways?

Thank you in advance guys

It would help if you told us WHICH MAC you have, what year it was made, and what ports you have on it.

If you can't "get connected" to the other Mac using target disk mode, I have an alternative course of action you could take.
But... it requires that you use an external drive.

What I'd suggest:
- All this will need to be done on your other Mac
- Have an external drive ready and connected. Or you could even use a USB flashdrive (but it would probably need to be at least 32gb)
- Boot the other Mac using the USB flashdrive installer
- Now, choose to install a clean copy of the OS onto the EXTERNAL DRIVE. (You may need to erase it first to HFS+ with journaling enabled).
- When done, the installer should boot up the external drive.
- Now, set it up with a "base account" -- you want to be able to boot from the external drive and reach the finder.

Once that's done, do this:
- Connect the external drive to the problem Mac
- Boot up from the external drive (hold down option key IMMEDIATELY after you hear the startup sound, and keep holding it down until the startup manager appears -- now select external drive and hit return)
- Can you get the problem Mac booted up and running the finder this way?
- If so, does the internal drive "mount" on the desktop (even if it's full)?
- If so, can you delete some stuff from it now (such as the screencase file). You want to GET RID of this stuff, and clean off the internal drive.

Once you toss some stuff out, you -might- be able to boot from it.

IF you -can't- mount the internal, your only course of action may be to "nuke it" (ERASE it to HFS+ with journaling enabled) and "start over" ...
