I have an Epson XP-830 but since my iMac is connected to the 5G Wifi in our home and the printers can't see 5G Wifi, I have tried to connect the printer via USB. I leave the Wifi Network connections on on the printer as we also use it to print from iPhones, iPads and my wife's iMac. However my iMac - even though I set up the printer by selecting the USB Multifunction when reinstalling the drivers - keeps saying that the printer is not connected, probably because it is looking for the Wifi connection instead of the USB.
Have not been able to find anything about Mac OS Mojave to force the computer to use the USB connection as default. (BTW - if I disable Wifi in the printer it works fine BUT it is a royal PIA to then have to re-setup the Wifi on the printer afterwards.)
The only "solution" I have found is to switch the iMac's Wifi to the non-Wifi 5G whenever I wish to print something and then switch that back.
Am I missing something?
Thanks
