I finally managed to get an appointment to get my battery replaced in my 2016 MBP. My machine is running the Big Sur developer beta and I’m wondering if that will prevent them from working on my machine. In the past I haven’t had any issues but I dont know if they have changed their policies. I wouldnt think it would as this is a hardware fix not software but you never know with the Genius Bar.

Probably no problem. They do run some sort of diagnostics thingy as part of the process - my wife’s machine was accidentally returned to us with that software running (instead of the OS) a few Weeks ago after a battery replacement. I doubt Big Sur would interfere with that.

The Apple store runs their diagnostic software from recovery mode over their own network. The OS is not used for this process. However, they will ask that you remove or provide the EFI password if one has been set.
