Hello everyone.

I had the usual pop-up reminding me that there were updates available for my OS. It oddly reminded me of the same message I got back in my XP days.

Well, here is the thing.

I live in a rural area with an okay DSL connection.

So tonight, while doing my usual backups, I decided to select my updates, which total to about 300mb.

The thing is, they were already downloaded. I never once remember having software update download those items.

Does Software Update run in the background in Leopard, while it fetches the updates without the user's notice? I looked online and haven't heard of this.

For all I know, I may have ran it earlier and didn't install, but I usually do my updates when I have a cable connection.

Software Update will download important updates automatically in the background in Leopard. Take a look at the Software Update Preference Pane. ;)

Bah!

Bah!

I was just checking Preferences before I checked my post.

Thanks for the tip!

:)

Well, that would explain the slow connections I've been having lately.
