None on the market with touch ID sensor and I’m so used to using Touch ID I’ve forgotten what it’s like to use Mac OS without it. Would it be much of a pain point?

Seems I got RSI from the latest Apple Keyboard after just a few weeks of heavy use (had it for a while and was when used casually), so thinking to try a tactile mechanical keyboard with longer throw like the MX mechanical for Mac.

Shame there’s no Touch ID or I’d have picked it up already. Thoughts?

If it's a desktop Mac you have then you could strap the keyboard with TouchID to the underside of the desk and use it solely for Touch-ID

Thanks! This sounds like the way to go ☺️

Youtube - Snazzy Labs: I Made a Tiny Touch ID Button for Mac!

PS - ignore the 3D printing and fancy fabrication in the video, a simple plastic or wooden hobby box along with some ingenuity and double-sided tape should suffice.

PPS - touch-id has never worked reliably for me, perhaps because I live at 7k feet above sea level. On the other hand, my new(ish) Apple Watch is wonderful for unlocking the computer with no effort on my part, along with tracking my bicycle rides, walking, etc.
