If you own 10.6.2, when the update is released, is it free to download?
 
Unfortunately Bennieboy is wrong. 10.6.3 is going to cost $129.99 anyway you slice it, which is payable and instantly downloadable by sending me payment to my paypal ID :D
 
To answer in more detail:

Yes, any updates to 10.6.x (Snow Leopard) are free. You can think of each 10.6.x update as being similar to a service pack in Windows. These updates usually just fix bugs and don't add additional features.

The big upgrades (10.5, 10.6, eventually 10.7...) are the new operating systems and you have to pay for those.

To the OP, yes, all Mac OS X system updates are free.

Apple does not, nor have they ever charged for a point release that is a 10.6.x update. Only major upgrades to the OS which are 10.x
