As noted by AppleInsider, Apple has seeded a third version of 10.6.5, termed Build 10H531, to developers for testing. The new build comes one week after the previous one and suggest that Apple is continuing to make rapid progress on the update.

Whereas the previous version carried no documented known issues, Build 10H531 exhibits one known issue involving USB devices not operating properly after waking from sleep on machines with VMware's virtualization products installed. Focus areas for the latest build are said to include iCal, Mail, USB Devices, 3D Graphics, QuickTime, and Time Machine.

The current version of Apple's Snow Leopard operating system, Mac OS X 10.6.4, was released in mid-June.

Do you have to be a registered Mac developer to download this or can iPhone devs also get it?

Hi,

I'm guessing there will be a release of this version right around the iPod event.

Anyone wanna bet 10.6.7 will be the end of Snow Leopard?

s.

Why do we keep reporting on these developer seeds of 10.6.x upgrades. I mean, if there was some awesome feature coming, I would understand. But Apple is doing a ton more than just OS X. I think these updates to developers should be page 2 news from here on.

I've got a nagging issues with windows not staying it the assigned space, and none of the updates have fixed this issue. When Spaces doesn't show up as something on these updates lists, I lose hope that it'll be fixed this time around, either.

Oh, well.

Because people like Mac news for a change.

Me too, & I thought it was just me suffering.....

You clearly don't look at the front page too often.

3D graphics? Hmmm I wonder if 10.6.5 will bring graphics support for the soon to be released 5870 and 5770 update cards.

iTunes dashboard widget will still crash on demand.
Stacks will still have broken nested sort settings.
The 'Open Selected File in TextEdit' service still will not work.
Text only view in the Finder toolbar will still kill the 'Back/Forward' button.

I didn't realise there was much else wrong with SL, so what is this update doing again :D?

I just finished "downgrading" my Hackintosh to 10.6.3, solving all the slow graphics issues. (Even the 10.6.4 graphics update didn't help.) I'll wait to hear from everyone here to see if 10.6.5 still has the same problems.

Hey, question. I built a Hackintosh for a friend, it's a vanilla install, mach_kernel unchanged on a P45 board. I've updated to 10.6.4 with no issues on reboot, but is the mach_kernel often altered on x.x.x updates?

Please further explain your issue.

iTunes will move to different spaces, iCal and Mail end up in different spaces, and sometimes even Safari won't stay where I've assigned it to.

I'm pretty sure it's only 1st party apps that are giving me problems, so that makes it doubly annoying. I can't pinpoint a cause, but it's really tedious to have to keep dragging windows back to where I've assigned them.
